Transportation Specialist 3rd Shift

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Carter team is growing quickly and we are looking for someone who can keep up with the pace. We are looking for a strong candidate who is a quick learner, who can work independently, and pays close attention to details. As a member of the customer service team, you will be accountable for managing customer relationships through many channels of the order process. You will take complete ownership of the freight by creating and tracking orders, anticipating problems and providing creative solutions to exceed customer expectations. This position will be located at our Anderson, IN location and base shift will be from 10 pm – 7 am (Tuesday-Friday), and 10am-6pm (Saturday).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Retain working knowledge of transportation systems after initial training
Initiate contact with carriers and customers when appropriate
Facilitate complete and thorough communication between carriers and customers
Organize and track freight on an appropriate time schedule
Effectively communicate an escalate events through management channels

Continuous Improvement Specialist

As a CI Specialist, you touch nearly every area and level of the organization. You will oversee and assist with both internal and external development efforts, playing major roles in new business and facility launches, while also acting as a project manager for multiple continuous improvement efforts. Continuous improvement efforts will range from a wide variety of activities that will create value for both Carter Express and our customers. The applicant will need to be highly organized, as they will be the focal point between different departments and will knowledgably direct other individuals and ensure timelines are met to achieve objectives. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist the Analyst Department and other internal departments as necessary

Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Specialist compiles, enters, posts, and reconciles payroll data, to maintain accurate payroll records at the working location of Carter Headquarters – Anderson, IN. The Specialist will assist employees with questions pertaining to company payroll policies and procedures. The Specialist may conduct investigations into problems, as well as reconcile payroll issues, concerning payroll payments, deductions, and taxes. The Specialist will work closely with finance to ensure the accuracy of the payroll/general ledger information. The Specialist will assist in identifying, evaluating, and implementing, process improvements.

Payroll Processing

Monitors assigned payroll activities and/or program components (e.g. County, State, and Federal agencies, tax laws, FMLA, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring compliance with established financial, legal and/or administrative requirements
Prepares a variety of payroll related documents (e.g., retirement plan transfers, ACH transfers, voluntary and involuntary contributions, W-2 controls, verification of employment and salary, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information
Records changes affecting net wages, for example exemptions, insurance coverage, and loan payments for each employee to update master payroll records
Compiles statistical and payroll data from a variety of sources (e.g. time sheets/payroll, salary adjustments, benefits etc.) for the purpose of providing summaries to other personnel, and/or ensuring compliance with established guidelines
Processes a wide variety of payroll documents and materials (e.g. time sheets, withholding information, employee contributions, leaves, supplements, stipends, etc.) for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties
Maintains a wide variety of payroll information (e.g. direct deposits, W-4s, PTO records, salary, levies, garnishments, retirement, voluntary and involuntary contributions, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of documentation and compliance with established policies and regulatory guidelines
Responds to inquiries regarding payroll procedures (e.g. wage levies and garnishments, direct deposits, etc.) for the purpose of providing appropriate action and/or complying with established fiscal guidelines
Confers with a variety of internal and external parties (e.g. employees, County/State/Federal agencies, vendors, banking institutions, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring accurate payroll processing
Coordinates and interacts with federal and state agencies on issues pertaining to employee compensation and deductions
Researches discrepancies of payroll information and/or documentation (e.g. time sheets, PTO time, salary, supplements, stipends, FMLA, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures prior to processing
Resolves discrepancies with payroll and/or benefit information and/or documentation (e.g. payroll, benefit providers, withholding versus W4, salary status, late hires, leaves of absence, separating employees, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring accuracy of records and employee payments.
Prepares bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting for financials
Responds to inquiries regarding unemployment claim notices for the purpose of providing information to the agency regarding eligibility of benefits coverage
Participates in workshops, in-service trainings, etc. for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions
Prepares and issues direct deposits

Payroll Reconciliation

Reviews payroll and a variety of insurance-related information (e.g. payroll reports, FMLA, requirements, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring accuracy of payroll and insurance records
Reviews, analyzes, and checks payroll reports for accuracy and makes necessary adjustments or corrections through journal entries or other established procedure
Reconciles payroll account balances (e.g. time sheets, direct deposits, wage attachments, benefits, voluntary and involuntary contributions, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining accurate account balances and complying with established guidelines
Reviews employee records and wage payment information for year-end reporting of W-2 and retirement reporting
Resolves discrepancies with wage payments and W-2 documentation and makes appropriate corrections as needed

Carter Express is growing our Andersonville, TN (Knoxville area) Operation and is offering fantastic new driver positions!

Carter Express is searching for great Team Driver candidates who are interest in Dedicated, Home Daily, Team Routes. We have three (3) Team Routes available.

Option 1: Dedicated, Home Daily, Team Routes making Round-trips from Andersonville, TN to Greenville, NC and Back. This new Team will deliver Monday through Friday.

Option 2: Dedicated, Home Daily, Team Routes making Round-trips from Andersonville, TN to Dyersburg, TN; Osceola, AR and Murry, KY and Back. This new Team will deliver Monday through Friday. The daily miles are 858 plus 2 Extra Paid Stop Pays.

Option 3: Dedicated, Home Daily, Team Routes making Round-trips from Andersonville, TN to Jackson, TN and Clarksdale, MS and Back. This new Team will deliver Monday through Friday. The daily miles are 929 plus 1 Extra Paid Stop Pay.

Systems Engineer

Systems Engineer

The Systems Engineer serves as a technical resource, and ensures proper operations about network architecture, planning, implementation, maintenance, and problem resolution for all data resources within Carter Express/Carter Logistics. This position examines/monitors/manages all data resources/networks to determine whether the business needs are being met and plans or recommends system changes/expansion based on this information. This position will be a part of an on-call rotation after getting accustomed to environment.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Experience with managing networks, prefer experience with Meraki and Cisco

• Experience with Windows Server and Windows Desktop environments, prefer experience with Server 2016 and Windows 10

Group Leader

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for providing the necessary leadership to the dock and sub assembly groups of the Weld Dock Operation, consisting of Team Leaders and Team Members. This position will rotate between shifts every four weeks, and work overtime as needed.

This position is responsible for managing milk run/truck load and all specialty accounts. Responsibilities include updating websites, monitoring timeliness of the drivers and routes. Communication to suppliers/plants/customers, drivers and all Internal departments and terminal locations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assign and plan loads to drivers.
Ensure on time pickups and deliveries to meet our customers’ needs.
Ensure Driver safety, including DOT compliance, safe working conditions, and maintaining company standards and policies.
Guide and assist drivers with deliveries, pickups, fuel needs, breakdowns, needs for roadside assistance, repairs, etc.
Assist Drivers with inquiries regarding availability, mileage, fuel cards, payroll, home time requests, and other obstacles throughout the day.
Handles all customer call-ins and e-mail updates to customer on expected delivery/service times (ETA’s) when requested.
Monitor electronic messages for the entire fleet and respond to drivers’ requests and inquiries accordingly.
Complete all computer work for TMW, Total Mail, Samsara, Etc.
Notifies drivers of all changes affecting their route (Customer cancellations, pick-ups, location changes, accidents, etc.)
Follow up on route activity from the previous day. Transferring all drivers’ notes, unit numbers, and additional services as needed.
Checks in drivers as they come in the evening/night. Make sure all stops have been accounted for and reschedule any missing stops.
