Transportation Specialist 3rd Shift

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Carter team is growing quickly and we are looking for someone who can keep up with the pace. We are looking for a strong candidate who is a quick learner, who can work independently, and pays close attention to details. As a member of the customer service team, you will be accountable for managing customer relationships through many channels of the order process. You will take complete ownership of the freight by creating and tracking orders, anticipating problems and providing creative solutions to exceed customer expectations. This position will be located at our Anderson, IN location and base shift will be from 10 pm – 7 am (Tuesday-Friday), and 10am-6pm (Saturday).

Continuous Improvement Specialist

As a CI Specialist, you touch nearly every area and level of the organization. You will oversee and assist with both internal and external development efforts, playing major roles in new business and facility launches, while also acting as a project manager for multiple continuous improvement efforts. Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Specialist compiles, enters, posts, and reconciles payroll data, to maintain accurate payroll records at the working location of Carter Headquarters – Anderson, IN. The Specialist will assist employees with questions pertaining to company payroll policies and procedures. The Specialist may conduct investigations into problems, as well as reconcile payroll issues, concerning payroll payments, deductions, and taxes. The Specialist will work closely with finance to ensure the accuracy of the payroll/general ledger information. The Specialist will assist in identifying, evaluating, and implementing, process improvements.

Payroll Processing

Monitors assigned payroll activities and/or program components (e.g. County, State, and Federal agencies, tax laws, FMLA, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring compliance with established financial, legal and/or administrative requirements
Prepares a variety of payroll related documents (e.g., retirement plan transfers, ACH transfers, voluntary and involuntary contributions, W-2 controls, verification of employment and salary, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information
Records changes affecting net wages, for example exemptions, insurance coverage, and loan payments for each employee to update master payroll records
Compiles statistical and payroll data from a variety of sources (e.g. time sheets/payroll, salary adjustments, benefits etc.) for the purpose of providing summaries to other personnel, and/or ensuring compliance with established guidelines
Processes a wide variety of payroll documents and materials (e.g. time sheets, withholding information, employee contributions, leaves, supplements, stipends, etc.) for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties
Maintains a wide variety of payroll information (e.g. direct deposits, W-4s, PTO records, salary, levies, garnishments, retirement, voluntary and involuntary contributions, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of documentation and compliance with established policies and regulatory guidelines
Responds to inquiries regarding payroll procedures (e.g. wage levies and garnishments, direct deposits, etc.) for the purpose of providing appropriate action and/or complying with established fiscal guidelines
Confers with a variety of internal and external parties (e.g. employees, County/State/Federal agencies, vendors, banking institutions, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring accurate payroll processing
Coordinates and interacts with federal and state agencies on issues pertaining to employee compensation and deductions
Researches discrepancies of payroll information and/or documentation (e.g. time sheets, PTO time, salary, supplements, stipends, FMLA, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures prior to processing
Resolves discrepancies with payroll and/or benefit information and/or documentation (e.g. payroll, benefit providers, withholding versus W4, salary status, late hires, leaves of absence, separating employees, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring accuracy of records and employee payments.
Prepares bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting for financials
Responds to inquiries regarding unemployment claim notices for the purpose of providing information to the agency regarding eligibility of benefits coverage
Participates in workshops, in-service trainings, etc. for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions
Prepares and issues direct deposits

Payroll Reconciliation

Reviews payroll and a variety of insurance-related information (e.g. payroll reports, FMLA, requirements, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring accuracy of payroll and insurance records
Reviews, analyzes, and checks payroll reports for accuracy and makes necessary adjustments or corrections through journal entries or other established procedure
Reconciles payroll account balances (e.g. time sheets, direct deposits, wage attachments, benefits, voluntary and involuntary contributions, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining accurate account balances and complying with established guidelines
Reviews employee records and wage payment information for year-end reporting of W-2 and retirement reporting

Carter Express is growing our Andersonville, TN (Knoxville area) Operation and is offering fantastic new driver positions!

Carter Express is searching for great Team Driver candidates who are interest in Dedicated, Home Daily, Team Routes. We have three (3) Team Routes available.

Option 1: Dedicated, Home Daily, Team Routes making Round-trips from Andersonville, TN to Greenville, NC and Back. This new Team will deliver Monday through Friday.

Option 2: Dedicated, Home Daily, Team Routes making Round-trips from Andersonville, TN to Dyersburg, TN; Osceola, AR and Murry, KY and Back. This new Team will deliver Monday through Friday. The daily miles are 858 plus 2 Extra Paid Stop Pays.

Option 3: Dedicated, Home Daily, Team Routes making Round-trips from Andersonville, TN to Jackson, TN and Clarksdale, MS and Back. This new Team will deliver Monday through Friday. The daily miles are 929 plus 1 Extra Paid Stop Pay.

Each new team will be eligible for a Sign On Bonus ($7,500 for the Team), a Quarterly Safety & Performance Bonus (an extra 3% of gross wages), a Fuel Bonus (up to $2,400 per year) and a Driver Referral Bonus ($1,500 for each solo driver and $3,000 for each team). Our management team, in Andersonville, will share route details with interviewing driver applicants. Deliveries are Monday through Friday. You are off “Every Weekend”.

Systems Engineer

Systems Engineer

The Systems Engineer serves as a technical resource, and ensures proper operations about network architecture, planning, implementation, maintenance, and problem resolution for all data resources within Carter Express/Carter Logistics. This position examines/monitors/manages all data resources/networks to determine whether the business needs are being met and plans or recommends system changes/expansion based on this information. This position will be a part of an on-call rotation after getting accustomed to environment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities Serves as a technical resource, and ensures proper operations about network architecture, planning, implementation, maintenance, and problem resolution for all data resources within Carter Express/Carter Logistics.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Experience with managing networks, prefer experience with Meraki and Cisco

• Experience with Windows Server and Windows Desktop environments, prefer experience with Server 2016 and Windows 10

• Microsoft Office 365 account provisioning, de-provisioning and maintenance

Cost Analyst

JOB TITLE: Cost Analyst

DEPARTMENT: Analyst

JOB SUMMARY:

As a Cost Analyst, you will be responsible for monitoring the financial performance of our business divisions and relaying that information to Executive Staff. You, along with the Cost Analyst Supervisor, will champion the efforts to identify areas for operational and/or pricing improvement as it directly relates to the company’s profitability. The analyst will work directly with costing software personnel, as well as various departments within Carter to to drive improvements into the bottom line for the company. You will need to anticipate and solve problems on a daily basis as well as provide effective communication to all necessary parties.

Provide insight into the progress and improvement of Carter’s assets
Use Carter’s cost models to prepare pricing on Carter asset-based RFQ’s
Analyze general ledger data to provide insight and explain variances on monthly maintenance costs
Prepare monthly data on the financial performance of Carter’s Crossdock operations
Build and review internal key performance indicators, then act accordingly to drive efficiency
Process monthly financial data to report profitability
Present analytical findings to Carter’s executive team

JOB SUMMARY:

As a Logistics Analyst, you will be responsible for managing customer data and ensuring freight is routed in the most cost effective manner. The applicant will be the primary advocate within the company for assigned customers to review transportation methods, cost, and optimization plans. The analyst will work directly with the customer, their supplier base, and internally within Carter to champion initiatives for that customer. You will need to anticipate and solve problems on a daily basis as well as provide effective communication to all necessary parties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Analyze customer shipping data to drive improvement and obtain optimum effectiveness
Build and review internal or customer key performance indicators, then act accordingly to drive efficiency
Present analytical findings to the client or Carter’s executive team
Maintain contact with customers to provide analysis and obtain feedback for improvement focus
Work closely with other Carter departments to initiate savings projects
Facilitate and lead customer on-boarding
Monitor Carter’s route network to increase truck efficiency
Track premium transportation through reporting to reduce future impact
Work with pricing department to develop quotes for potential clients
Provide various internal reporting as requested

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Administrative Assistant

Summary: Perform various administrative activities. The ideal candidate will have strong written, oral, communication, organization, and facilitation skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Answering phone calls and calling customers and vendors to follow up on appointments and deliveries.
Greet and direct visitors.
Compiling, maintaining, and updating company records
Managing office inventory and working with office staff/vendors to ensure the regular supply of office materials

Forklift Training Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY:

As a team member in Cross Dock Operations, you will be a part of Carter Express’ competitive and lively work environment. As a Forklift Operator Coordinator, you are at the center of a supply chain within the Carter network. You will play a vital role in the manufacturing process of popular vehicles seen on the road today.

The objective of this role is to support high-volume onboarding and training. This position requires attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication skills, and performance in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. As the Coordinator, you must be passionate about teaching others and effectively execute training plans and provide ongoing support. This role is responsible for directly coaching team members to improve safety practices and performance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan and coordinate forklift training ensuring completion of mandatory training programs for all new personnel and internal staff.
Define, clarify, and validate training requirements and specifications.
Conduct process audits to ensure trainees follow defined operational instructions.
Oversee learning events, including supervision of participants that includes evaluation, feedback, and coaching

POSITION SUMMARY

Plan, direct and coordinate the on-site operations at MTMUS. Responsible for ensuring and improving the safety performance, productivity, and efficiency of departments and organizational operations through utilizing KPI. Work with the Human Resource manager to monitor manpower requirements, hiring, and safety tracking and improvement.

Group Leader

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for providing the necessary leadership to the dock and sub assembly groups of the Weld Dock Operation, consisting of Team Leaders and Team Members. This position will rotate between shifts every four weeks, and work overtime as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Will manage Team Leaders and will be responsible for the overall dock material handling and assembly operations.
Must ensure compliance with the Mazda Toyota Manufacturing System procedures and train and develop team leaders and team members on proper procedures.

This position is responsible for managing milk run/truck load and all specialty accounts. Responsibilities include updating websites, monitoring timeliness of the drivers and routes. Communication to suppliers/plants/customers, drivers and all Internal departments and terminal locations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assign and plan loads to drivers.
Ensure on time pickups and deliveries to meet our customers’ needs.
Ensure Driver safety, including DOT compliance, safe working conditions, and maintaining company standards and policies.
Guide and assist drivers with deliveries, pickups, fuel needs, breakdowns, needs for roadside assistance, repairs, etc.
Assist Drivers with inquiries regarding availability, mileage, fuel cards, payroll, home time requests, and other obstacles throughout the day.
Handles all customer call-ins and e-mail updates to customer on expected delivery/service times (ETA’s) when requested.
Monitor electronic messages for the entire fleet and respond to drivers’ requests and inquiries accordingly.
Complete all computer work for TMW, Total Mail, Samsara, Etc.
Notifies drivers of all changes affecting their route (Customer cancellations, pick-ups, location changes, accidents, etc.)
Follow up on route activity from the previous day. Transferring all drivers’ notes, unit numbers, and additional services as needed.
Checks in drivers as they come in the evening/night. Make sure all stops have been accounted for and reschedule any missing stops.
Keeps Dispatch Manager updated on issues and resolution of issues.

The Helpdesk Engineer serves as a technical resource, and ensures proper operations about network architecture, planning, implementation, maintenance, and problem resolution for all data resources within Carter Express/Carter Logistics. This position examines/monitors/manages all data resources/networks to determine whether the business needs are being met and plans or recommends system changes/expansion based on this information. This position will be a part of an on-call rotation after getting accustomed to environment.
