      Forklift Mechanic

      As a forklift mechanic, you are responsible for keeping forklifts in safe, working order. You may conduct inspections, order parts, make repairs, handle preventative maintenance, troubleshoot problems, and keep logs of your work.

      Requirements/Skills

      1. Perform routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance of forklifts.
      2. Interpret manufacturer’s technical manuals to perform the necessary maintenance and repairs needed
      3. Troubleshoot forklift problems to include brake, electrical and hydraulic systems, detect imperfections, potential problems, safety issues and/or malfunctions
      4. Able to diagnose and repair mast and attachment components
      5. Good working knowledge of brake systems and tire/wheel changes
      6. Ability to work on LP, gas and diesel systems
      7. Replace broken or defective parts from stock parts and/or order replacement parts for major repairs
      8. Reassemble forklifts and make all necessary adjustments for effective and safe operation
      9. Perform safety inspection of forklifts prior to being released back to the work floor
      10. Cleaning of equipment and other areas as required
      11. Ensure work area and methods used in carrying out job duties meet safety requirements
      12. Maintain an organized and neat work area
      13. Competent to complete legible service documents and logs for preventative maintenance tasks
      14. Learn new technical information and techniques to stay current with changing technology

       

      Experience Preferred

       

      • Two or more years of experience in a related field, including maintenance of various lift trucks such as Hyster, Cat and Mitsubishi with lift ratings up to 12,000 lbs
      • Manufacturing, automotive, military, or recent trade school graduates with applied skills
      • Solid foundation of mechanical aptitude and ability along with knowledge of industrial electricity up to 440 volts would be preferred
      • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a drug screen
      • Able to work safely and follow company rules and procedures. A MUST

      Logistics Analyst

      JOB DESCRIPTION

       JOB SUMMARY:

      As a Logistics Analyst, you will be responsible for managing customer data and ensuring freight is routed in the most cost effective manner. The applicant will be the primary advocate within the company for assigned customers to review transportation methods, cost, and optimization plans. The analyst will work directly with the customer, their supplier base, and internally within Carter to champion initiatives for that customer. You will need to anticipate and solve problems on a daily basis as well as provide effective communication to all necessary parties.

      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      1.  Analyze customer shipping data to drive improvement and obtain optimum effectiveness
      2. Build and review internal or customer key performance indicators, then act accordingly to drive efficiency
      3. Present analytical findings to the client or Carter’s executive team
      4. Maintain contact with customers to provide analysis and obtain feedback for improvement focus
      5. Work closely with other Carter departments to initiate savings projects
      6. Facilitate and lead customer on-boarding
      7. Monitor Carter’s route network to increase truck efficiency
      8. Track premium transportation through reporting to reduce future impact
      9. Work with pricing department to develop quotes for potential clients
      10. Provide various internal reporting as requested

      Continuous Improvement Specialist

      As a CI Specialist, you touch nearly every area and level of the organization.  You will oversee and assist with both internal and external development efforts, playing major roles in new business and facility launches, while also acting as a project manager for multiple continuous improvement efforts. Continuous improvement efforts will range from a wide variety of activities that will create value for both Carter Express and our customers. The applicant will need to be highly organized, as they will be the focal point between different departments and will knowledgably direct other individuals and ensure timelines are met to achieve objectives. You will need to anticipate and solve problems daily, as well as provide effective communication to all requisite parties.

       

      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

       

      1. Act as internal project manager and drive continuous improvement initiatives in the workplace to improve efficiencies.
      2. Generate improvement projects after witnessing shortcomings in our operations
      3. Convert procedural developments into an instructional format that is easy to teach
      4. Assist the Analyst Department and other internal departments as necessary
      5. Travel to other Carter and Customer Locations to observe processes in a live environment or participate in new business launches.
      6. Support managers and executives in other departments as necessary.
      7. Direct daily, monthly, and yearly improvement based on key performance indicators
      8. Provide hands-on support during the absence of other team members or during peak times
      9. 1st shift (8:00 to 17:00) work schedule, with the ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift as necessary (short term for projects only)

       

      EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

      Transportation Specialist 3rd Shift

      POSITION OVERVIEW:

      The Carter team is growing quickly and we are looking for someone who can keep up with the pace. We are looking for a strong candidate who is a quick learner, who can work independently, and pays close attention to details. As a member of the customer service team, you will be accountable for managing customer relationships through many channels of the order process. You will take complete ownership of the freight by creating and tracking orders, anticipating problems and providing creative solutions to exceed customer expectations.  This position will be located at our Anderson, IN location and base shift will be from 10 pm – 7 am (Tuesday-Friday), and 10am-6pm (Saturday).

      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Facilitate complete and thorough communication between carriers and customers
      • Organize and track freight on an appropriate time schedule

      Position Description

      This position is responsible for the management of our Hebron, KY location.  Responsibilities include coordination and timeliness of the drivers/routes, communication to suppliers/customers and driver/employee/equipment management. 

      Requirements/Skills

      Carter is looking for an experienced and motivated Collections Specialist to join our dynamic Accounting team. Your duties will include analyzing current and past due receivables, reporting AR activity to executive management and operations teams, as well as working with customers to resolve outstanding receivables.

      Option 3: This routes runs from Vandalia to Saint Marys (PA) & Ridgway (PA) & Towneville (PA) and Back. Miles are 764 round trip plus the extra Stop Pay. Our new driver will deliver this route three times one week and two times the next. On the short week, the driver can get an extra day off or run a local route to complete your week.

      • Checks in drivers as they come in the evening/night. Make sure all stops have been accounted for and reschedule any missing stops.
      • Keeps Dispatch Manager updated on issues and resolution of issues.

      Payroll Specialist

      The Payroll Specialist compiles, enters, posts, and reconciles payroll data, to maintain accurate payroll records at the working location of Carter Headquarters – Anderson, IN. The Specialist will assist employees with questions pertaining to company payroll policies and procedures. The Specialist may conduct investigations into problems, as well as reconcile payroll issues, concerning payroll payments, deductions, and taxes. The Specialist will work closely with finance to ensure the accuracy of the payroll/general ledger information.       EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

      • High School diploma required
      • College degree preferred and/or 1 year transportation, account management & customer service experience
      • Excellent problem analysis skills
      • Solid verbal and written communication skills
      • High stress tolerance and ability to adjust to changing priorities in a fast paced environment
      • Strong work ethic with a professional, positive attitude

      Dispatcher (Multiple Openings)

      This position is responsible for managing routes and drivers to ensure on time pickups and deliveries are made. Responsibilities include timeliness of the drivers/routes, communication to suppliers/plants/customers, driver management and other departments.

      Available Shifts:

      Weekend Shift: Friday – Sunday 19:00 -07:00

      2nd Shift: Monday – Friday  17:00 – 01:00

      3rd Shift: Sunday – Thursday 23:00-07:00

      Requirements/Skills

      • Dispatch/transportation experiences a plus.
      • Must be dependable and reliable.
      • Ability to follow direction and work closely with other team members
      • Prior Route Management experiences a plus.
      • Must be able to effectively communicate to all organizational levels.
      • Must be able to effectively manage drivers, including enforcing current company policies.
      • Professional appearance.
      • Proven ability to solve problems and work in high pressure situations.
      • Knowledge of TMW software.
      • Know, support and enforce company policies and expectations.
      • Organized, responsible and dependability a MUST
      • Must commit to one year on shift before transferring to another department

      Education/Experience

      • High School Diploma or GED.
      • One year of transportation experience.
